Double Pantograph Supports Payload Transfer

Autoquip’s Double Pantograph supports payload transfer for a Delta 4 rocket at space launch complex on the west coast.

The Challenge

An easier method of transferring cargo onto a Delta 4 Rocket was needed and a solution that would serve as a temporary mezzanine for loading between the 15th and 16th floor of the fixed rocket tower. The requirements of the material handling equipment included precise positioning, air powered and locking pins for attaching to tower and creating a stable mezzanine floor.

The Autoquip Solution

A custom designed Double Pantograph was built to integrate with the rocket launch tower and included air controlled operating valves and controlled pneumatic platform locking pins for accurate placement and alignment between floors. Autoquip also supplied gates and enclosures including pneumatic gate interlocking system for a complete and safe application solution.
