Autoquip to Host Vocational Students from Guthrie High School

February 16, 2016

Autoquip will host students from Guthrie High school vocational program on February 23, 2016 as part of their community involvement program.  Autoquip has partnered with Guthrie High School to encourage students to pursue careers in manufacturing and to inform them of the value of manufacturing to the U.S. Economy.

Autoquip will host two groups of students on February 23, 2016. The first one starting at 8am-9am with the afternoon group from 1pm – 2pm.  Autoquip will began the day with a short video overview of their products and offer tours of the manufacturing facility.  “Our goal is to reach out to the next generation of workers to showcase the variety of careers within our company and the scope of our operation,” said Joe Robillard, President of Autoquip.

Michael Merritt, Manufacturing Supervisor with Autoquip, and also a Guthrie High School alumni has been influential in bringing this program together along with Chris LeGrande, principle of Guthrie High School.  “I think the students will be impressed. And, for some it may be the first time hearing about our company. We hope to inspire and encourage future manufacturing leaders.”
