Materials, Surfaces & Coatings

Autoquip offers a wide variety of coatings, coverings, and material types for your lift platform. Our standard lift platforms are constructed with high-grade smooth carbon steel, but when your application demands something more, we offer many options to customize the lift platform exactly the way you need it.

We have fabricated our lift platforms for a variety of purposes including slip-resistant work surfaces, flow and filtration of fluids, load bearing and high traffic use. We are happy to consult with you on selecting the right material for your project.

Platform Materials

Stainless Steel

For applications involving frequent wash down, high-corrosive, and food processing applications, a platform using stainless steel materials may be the most appropriate.  We also offer a stainless steel skin that can be bolted to the underlying platform and can easily be replaced as needed which provides a cost effective solution.  Our standard stainless finish can be sand blasted or applied with different finishing grades.

Similar to stainless steel, aluminum can be used in clean room, food, or wash down applications.  We can provide the platform in either smooth or tread plate top surface.  Our standard for aluminum finish is standard mill which can be sand blast or applied with different finish grades; or coated with paint.

Surface Options

Tread Plate

Heavy-duty steel tread plate, also known as Diamond Plate has raised diamond lug pattern that provides excellent skid resistance for a wide range of applications.  As part of our custom service, we can install diamond plate directly over the platform surface.

Platform grating is used when really aggressive traction is required and load bearing applications are in force.  Many styles of platform grating range from spaced bars to several different types of perforated designs.  The material can range from the standard carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, fiberglass, and even composite materials.

Slip Resistant Floor Plate

Metal plating with a slip resistant finish provides a safe walking surface for industries involving the use of oils, lubricants, dust, water and other slipper substances.

Modular flooring systems

Autoquip offers a wide range of modular flooring systems for any heavy-duty material handling use.

  • Diamond (12” tiles) Multi-patent, hi-tech metal “like”- Graphite, other colors available
  • CircleTrac (12” tiles) Traditional, coin top pattern – Graphite, other colors available
  • Metal diamond plate flooring system – Graphite, other colors available

Metal flooring options come pre-drilled and are pre-assembled to insure assembly ease and fastener locations are precisely located. The flooring material will be packaged and shipped separately from the lift to insure the integrity of the finish during installation.  The surface can be installed as a final task.

Platform Coatings

Hot Dipped Galvanized

Most requested for outdoor applications where exposure to the elements is prevalent. We can offer a complete hot dipped galvanized finish on just about any platform surface; smooth, tread plate or grating.  And, for an even more resistant finish, we can apply an overcoat of paint to further protect the platform from harsh conditions.

Anti-slip coatings

Anti-slip epoxy grit coating is applied with a roller as a type of paint.  This is a permanent, nonskid coating to help prevent slip accidents. Available in a variety of colors or we can match to a proper RAL#.

Stainless Steel Coatings

Metallic coating to protect the work surface from harmful chemicals, oils, alkalis, food acids, water immersion, abrasion, and high-pressure wash-downs.
